Looks challenging but layer by layer, working from background to foreground, using brush strokes to emphasize the textures and paying attention light and shadow… no scenery is too hard!

Alexis worked steadily on this piece… sometimes felt like giving up because just too many layers, but when all layers are done, the sense of accomplishment is priceless and an encouragement to pursue the next challenge!

Alexis’ first acrylic canvas painting! There was a bit of getting used to how thick the paint is, why the need to paint so many layers, but this is usual when acquainting ourselves to a new medium.

She did well! 👍

Envisioning space and translating a vision into a concrete sculpture takes a lot of hard work and heart work!

Alexis learnt about forms and space, materiality of different types of cardboards and adhesives, the importance of being precise and handling of tools… and oh, not to forget, problem-solving at every point!

This is probably her first time building a model and she was so proud of it!
